Halloween celebrations in South Korea ends up with a huge disaster

Yesterday, in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, tens of thousands of teenagers and young adults gathered in the popular nightlife neighborhood - Itaewon to celebrate the 2022 Halloween. The crowd was so big that it was difficult to move around or even breathe - as reported by the people who were there. Suddenly partygoers started pushing each other and shouting, which caused mass panic. A lot of people were fainting and falling on each other, which ended tragically. About 82 people from around the world who wanted to have fun in Seol were injured and about 151 died.  It's a horrible disaster, which befell these people. The youth wanted to have fun after a long time of restrictions related to Covid pandemia. Young agers need to party and spend time with people to develop socially and create memories. Unfortunately, the Seul residents' fun ended with a huge tragedy. The innocent party turned into real horror. I can't even imagine how bad the families of the victims can feel...

Liz Truss resigned as U.K. prime minister

After 45 days of being the prime minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss announced her resignation. It started with her finance minister Kwasi Kartteng's attempt to slash the taxes for the highest earners and biggest corporations, without saying anything about the plans for how to pay for them. Truss's favorability had fallen by -70% and the Conservative Party lawmakers started to publicly contemplate replacing her.  Liz Truss assumed her position during difficult times in the UK. The death of Queen Elizabeth, many strikes, and the economical and political crisis, which is known throughout the whole of Europe after the Covid-19 pandemia and the Russia-Ukraine war, contributed to the enormous pressure which was laying on the new prime minister. It doesn't change the fact that her governance didn't end up too well. She led to the financial crisis development and the even bigger inflation of the British pound. Her short-termed position as the Prime Minister wasn't g...

Protesters have thrown tomato soup over Van Gogh's "Sunflowers".

Two women from the activist group "Just stop oil" walked into the National Gallery in London and threw a content of two Heinz Tomato Soup over the famous Van Gogh masterpiece and glued their hands to the wall. The painting was painted in 1888 and has an estimated value of  72,5 million pounds. The National Gallery claims that the art is unharmed, there is only some damage to the frame of the painting. After unsticking the activists from the wall, they were arrested for criminal damage and aggravated trespass.  "Just Stop Oil" is an activist group in the UK, which wants the UK government to halt new licenses and fossil fuel production because of its harm to the environment. In my opinion, devastating the famous Van Gogh's masterpiece is not the most rational way to fight with the government and show the need for environmental protection. Art is one of our cultural heritage, it inspires and delights people, but it does not encourage people to use fossil fuels. I...

The bridge linking Crimea to Russia destroyed.

After the massive explosion, a part of the Kerch bridge from Russia to Crimea has been destroyed. At 6 o'clock, Moscov time, the truck on the car thread has blown up, setting cisterns on the railway line on fire.  The building was an essential link for the Russian military and also the symbol of the Kremlin's occupation. A section of the bridge collapsed after the explosion, making it impossible to cross. So far, Ukraine hasn't admitted responsibility for the explosion. I think that blowing up the Kerch bridge is a really important achievement of the Ukrainian offense. Destruction of the building cuts off Russian military support and resource delivery creating a huge advantage for Ukraine. In 2014 Russia illegally annexed Crimea and commissioned the construction of a bridge as a symbol of the occupation. The illegally built bridge should be devastated to show that the territory of Crimea doesn't belong to Russia. This move is going to have a huge effect on Russian logi...

New leak in a Russian natural gas pipeline

After recording the three gas leaks in Nord Stream 1 and 2 this week, Sweden has found the new, fourth one. Swedish s eismologists say that they detected underwater explosions in area of the leaks.   Nato claims that the damage of the major undersea pipeline is caused by  " deliberate, reckless and irresponsible acts of sabotage".  Russia admit that they have nothing to do it with and call the accuses of they attacking their own pipelines"predictable and stupid".   Nord Stream is a pair of offshore natural gas pipelines in Europe, which delivers the gas from Russia to Germany.  Russia has been trying to cut their gas supplies to Europe for months. Prices of gas in Europe are still rising.  Germany  has become increasingly reliant on Russian gas to meet its energy needs. It only shows how Europe is becoming dependent on Russian gas.   After destroying the Nord stream they can close it and stop delivering the gas, making the gas demand in Euro...
